Short Plays
He Said/ She Said
A claustrophobic courtroom drama, where a case between two elderly acquaintances - one the defendant and one the key witness for the prosecution - remember the same event very differently. Truth is less of a fact and more of a weapon to be used against one another. Inspired by plays like 12 Angry Men.
The Best Policy
A political satire about an interview between a politician who is invited onto a talkshow after there has been a scandal. The politician is expecting an easy ride. However, the journalist conducting the interview has a agenda of her own and is not going to let him off easy. We then see a cat-and-mouse game play-out where we see both are hugely flawed characters. Inspired by films like ‘Network’ and the play ‘Frost Nixon’ .
Short Film Scripts
Conversations with myself: Talking to a stranger.
A short film script about a middle-aged man who is at a very low point in his life. After a drunken night he falls asleep only to wake up twenty years earlier; sitting face-to-face with his younger self.
Their conversation is an emotional dive into how life changes people, who mistakes are made and ambitions don’t always come true.
Who am I tomorrow?
A script for a short film about two men who meet in a bar. They begin to chat and quickly become friends. As their conversation goes on it becomes apparent that one of them is asking all the questions. As the story unfolds we realiuse he is finding out everything about his new friend so that when he kills him he can steal his identity. It’s inspired by films like The Talented Mr Ripley.
